You do not need a referral from a General Practitioner (GP) to access psychological services and assessment. However, if you have a mental health condition, or co-occurring physical health issues, it is recommended that you see a GP because they can assist by coordinating your treatment. The brain is just another organ in your body. It likes to think that it's the most complex one, but it's just as affected by nutrition, fatigue, and illness as every other organ. 

When May's books are closed or very busy, admin staff may offer appointments with early career or experienced psychologists through PsychLab which operates during weekdays.
