Research and Development
Researching psychology is like shining a torch into the darkness. Each time the light grows, so does the circumference of the unknown around it. The practice of psychology is working within the illuminated area, however, there is still much work to be done in understanding the human condition.
The Made It Clinic embraces the 'Scientist Practitioner' model; using research to inform practice, and using practice experience to propose new research. When you access services through the Made It Clinic, you may be offered the option of participating in one of our research streams.

Things you should know before agreeing to participate:
- You can opt out of participation at any time. If you opt out, you will still be eligible to access the same experimental treatment until the end of the course. Your data will be removed from data collection.
- The researcher will explain to you the typical investment of participation including time allocation to the program. If you have any questions, you can ask them at any time.
- The information collected will be de-identified. This means that your name, street address, stakeholder's details (e.g. your doctor's name) and some other details will be removed. However, there is still a risk in small communities that participants may be identified based on other information. To minimise the risk, we will use aggregate data wherever possible.
- This de-identified/aggregated data may be presented at conferences, workshops, in scientific journals, in print media, or otherwise disseminated. The purpose of this is to help improve public and practitioner knowledge of the evidence base associated with different approaches.
- This de-identified/aggregate data may be used in the development of programs.
